Programs
Preschool/Kindergarten
The objective of this program is to foster a learning environment of creativity and imagination. Core subjects include language arts, Math readiness, Bible studies, Science, Social studies and Spanish. Lessons are structured around a different theme each month and cross-curricular activities are designed to reinforce concepts taught during the lesson. This integrated approach to the implementation of the curriculum is designed to ensure a successful start in first grade.
The classroom ratio is a maximum of 12 students to 1 teacher.
Elementary (Gr1-Gr6)
A sequential learning curriculum is offered to elementary students to prepare them for academic success throughout the elementary grades. The program focuses on Reading/Language Arts, Math, Religious Studies, Science, Social Studies, Art, Music, Handwriting and Computer Technology.
To support instruction in reading and mathematics, we use the Harcourt programs for Math and Language Arts and these programs are further enhanced by the creativity of Oakwood’s highly qualified teachers.
The classroom ratio is a maximum of 12 students to 1 teacher.
After-school (ages 2-12 years)
The After-school program begins at 3:30pm and ends at 5:30pm. Students are able to complete their homework assignments with supervision in a comfortable and safe environment. Outdoor and free play activities are included.
